Schengen Information System
On April 8th the second generation Schengen Information System (SIS II) entered in operation.
The SIS II allows for easy information exchanges between border countries costumes and police authorities, helping them to better protect the Schengen area, fight crime and locate missing persons.
There are strict requirements on data protection in the Schengen area. If a person’s data has been stored that person is entitled to request access to it to make that it is correct and it was lawfully entered, if that is not the case the person in question has the right to request that the data is corrected or deleted.
